Port Coquitlam is one of Canada’s largest cities by population but covers an area of only just under 30 square kilometres. Originally sprawling with farmland, modern-day Port Coquitlam is a suburban city with numerous housing and commercial developments.
Port Coquitlam is divided by the Lougheed Highway, with the north side being trendier in terms of living. Trains run five times a day between the local railway station and Vancouver, so Port Coquitlam is a popular choice among commuters who work in Vancouver but would like to live in a more affordable city.
